Christmas is a magical time of year, but when it's over, all the decorations lose their enchantment for me. My mother used to leave the decorations up until New Year's Day. I tried that a few decades ago, but after the children started school, it seemed like it took until March to put everything away.
Paul groans when I take down the decorations, but I simply can't stand to have them up after Christmas is over. It was a birthday present to myself to spend the day putting away the decor. One new year's resolution will definitely be to recruit help putting that gigantic nativity box on the top shelf. The box and I nearly toppled off the ladder together.
