Bravo Broadway Dancing and Romancing

Paul planned an evening of dining and culture.  We drove to Salt Lake City and had dinner at a quaint Italian restaurant, Caffe Molise.  The cafe had live music from this little jazz band called, Double Helix.  One of its best features was a talented saxophonist that set a perfect mood for the evening.

From the restaurant, we walked to Abravanel Hall, home to the Utah Symphony.  The night's performance was a tribute to some of the great Broadway composers and included singers and dancers.  An added bonus came when the conductor, Jerry Steichen, announced that President Henry B. Eyring, First Counselor in the First Presidency of the Church, was in the audience and who stood to be recognized.  The Church is one of the hall's Millennium Sponsors and was this concert's sponsor.

I took this shot before the performance began.
During intermission, Paul pointed out the beautiful view from the hall of the historic Salt Lake Temple.
Paul took this picture of me with the enormous artwork of blown glass which sits in the lobby of the Abravanel Hall.
Christmas lights are still displayed on the grounds.  I liked them there.  (It's just in my home that I like to take them down promptly after Christmas.)
Thanks, Paul.  You're right, I was staying home too much.

One of the most delightful highlights of the evening was running into a former high school classmate, Wendy Steorts Martin.  I could have recognized her anywhere.  She is timeless.  So good to see you, Wendy.
